In 1996, Kim opened YogaSpirit in Massachusetts and became one of the first school approved for teacher training in 1999. This program has trained hundreds of teachers in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Washington.

Kim’s teachings were developed after she turned to alternative medicine in the early 1980s.

Through meditation, Kim realized firsthand the power of healing and liberation from chronic pain, which opened the doorway to her mystical journey.

Her transformation in overcoming serious near-death injury, illness, and life events has allowed her to release pain and suffering within herself and help others.

Kim studied with Senior Iyengar Teacher Patricia Walden in Somerville, MA in the late ‘80s and continued studying until 2002. and highly respects the excellence in the teaching she was given and in the Iyengar Tradition, and much inspiration from that time in her life is rooted in her teaching today.

  • Owner of Divinely Rooted

Kellie Codianna began her first YogaSpirit Teacher training in 2003 after practicing Yoga on a VHS boxset of 6 videos with Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee for many years. Within that year, she had the most profound shift in her consciousness, from feeling defeated by the world to believing she is in charge of her destiny.

Kellie also holds a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health and a Minor in Fine art. In her teachings on the mat, Kellie weaves her Psychology wisdom with movement to bring each student back into their body. She is passionate about helping people reduce anxiety through mind-body-breath connection.

Kellie desired more Yogic Wisdom and immediately went on to take YogaSpirit 500 hour training with Kim Valeri. The focus of this training was more challenging poses as well as how to work with clients individually in a therapeutic aspect of weaving deep wisdom of Ayurveda, Anatomical alignment, centered on breath within the asana practice.

Kellie has also taken many of Kim’s separate modules on Embodiment of Yogic Wisdom and attended and assisted Ayurveda Spring Cleanse and Fall Rejuvenation 4 day retreats twice a year. In 2011, Kellie trained with Kerala Academy for 500 hours for the Ayurveda Wellness Counselor Program.

Kellie has always been passionate about health, anatomy and how our bodies work. She went on to have a deeper understanding with being trained in Mat and Reformer Pilates in 2012. Pilates has awakened her 3rd chakra burning a fire within her to help people return to the essence of who they are.

As we come full circle, 20 years since her first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, she is honored to bring Yoga Spirit this successful ongoing program to Divinely Rooted Studio.
